Wine Tasting Festival

Saturday, April 26, 11am to 6pm at La Quinta Inn, 1410 SE Washington Blvd. (Hwy 75). $10 admission; ID required. Tapas from Robert’s available for purchase. Background music by Kristin Cameron and Cody Walker. Participating wineries include: Cabin Creek Winery, Big Cabin, OK; Blue Coyote Winery, Adair, OK; Oak Hills Winery, Chelsea, OK; Summerside Winery, Vinita, OK.

YardDawgz Route 66 Night

The Oklahoma Route 66 Association, POPS, and the Oklahoma City YardDawgz Arena Football team are having a YardDawgz Route 66 Night!! Route 66 Night will take place on Sunday, April 27. The YardDawgz will be playing the Austin Wranglers at the Ford Center at 3:05pm. The Dawgz will hold their FanFest prior to the game outside the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. FanFest starts at around 1:05. Tickets: The YardDawgz are offering all Oklahoma Route 66 Association members $5 off their tickets which would make the ticket price $5 - $9, depending on which seat level is preferred. Members can purchase tickets by calling the YardDawgz at 580-228-3294. Ask for Ryan and let him know you are part of the Route 66 group.

Oklahoma Centennial Project

The Sapulpa Historical Society will have the grand opening of its Oklahoma Centennial Project during the Route 66 Blowout in Sapulpa. The society is in the process of restoring a 1922 filling station operated by Waite Phillips, brother of Frank Phillips, across the street from the Sapulpa Historical Society Museum, at 100 East Lee Avenue. There will be an open house at the museum that day, and lemonade and cookies will be served.

Route 66 Association of Missouri Motor Tour

The Route 66 Association of Missouri is ringing the dinner bell for cruisers to join in the Association's 19th Annual Motor Tour to be held September 5, 6 and 7, 2008. The Tour will commence in Collinsville, IL and end in Lebanon, MO. The Tour's theme this year focuses on the eateries on Route 66 in Missouri. This is most appropriate this year, as it is the 50th Anniversary of one of the Route's most famous food stops, Zeno's Steakhouse and Motel in Rolla, MO.

Calling all cars and cars buffs. The 7th annual International Route 66 Mother Road Festival & Car Show in Springfield, Illinois returns with some things old and some things new.
